Privacy Notice
Last updated 31 October 2026
This notice comes from selectour, which arranges day trips and multi-day journeys in Bali. It explains what we do with your personal data, in plain terms.
There is no account to create on this site, no sign-up form, and no email capture. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers. You reach us on WhatsApp or by email, and we hold only what we need to answer you and to run your trip.
1. Who we are
We are selectour (“we”, “us”), the operator of selectour.asia, arranging travel services in Bali, Indonesia. We are the party that decides how your data is used — the “data user” under Hong Kong’s Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486), and the data controller under Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act.
Privacy contact: [email protected]
2. What we collect
When you message us — on WhatsApp, email or phone — we receive your name or display name, your phone number and/or email address, your travel dates, group size, pickup hotel or area, and anything you choose to tell us about your plans.
When you book — the above, plus the lead traveller’s full name as shown on the passport (needed for tickets, permits and insurance), and the payment reference and amount. We never receive or store your full card number; card payments are handled by the payment provider.
When you browse — nothing that identifies you. The site stores two preferences in your browser’s local storage, your chosen currency and language, so pages do not reset them. Those values never reach our server and are not personal data. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page, time) which we use only for security and fault-finding, and which rotate out.
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, session recording, or behavioural tracking of any kind. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you have not seen a cookie banner here.
3. Why we use it
- to answer your enquiry and quote a price
- to confirm, change or cancel a booking
- to arrange hotel pickup, tickets, permits and insurance, and to brief the crew running your trip
- to take payment and keep accounting records
- to reach you before and during your trip
- to handle a complaint, refund or insurance claim
We do not use your data for anything beyond this. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and asking about a trip never puts you on a marketing list.
4. Who we share it with
Trips are delivered by local operators, drivers, boat crews and licensed guides in Bali. To run your trip we must pass on the minimum needed: lead traveller name, group size, date, pickup point, and any medical or dietary note you have given us that affects what they do on the day. They may use it only to deliver the trip.
We also share data with our payment provider (to process payment), our email provider (to send confirmations and vouchers), and, where the law requires it, authorities, regulators or insurers.
We do not share your details with any third party for that party’s own marketing.
5. Sending data to Indonesia
We arrange travel that is performed in Bali, so booking data is transferred to and processed in Indonesia. The recipients are our Bali-based operating partners, and they receive only what is listed in section 4.
This transfer is necessary to perform the contract you have with us — the trip cannot be delivered otherwise. For Hong Kong users this is a cross-border transfer of personal data; for Taiwan users it is an international transmission (國際傳輸). By confirming a booking you consent to it. If you do not consent, we cannot run your trip, and we will say so before you pay.
6. Marketing
We do not send marketing unless you ask for it. If you do opt in — for example, “tell me when you add new trips” — you can opt out at any time by replying STOP on WhatsApp or using the unsubscribe link in any email. We never pass your details to a third party for their own marketing.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become bookings — up to 12 months, then deleted
- Bookings and payment records — as long as Indonesian tax and accounting rules require, then deleted
- WhatsApp chat history — while your trip is live and for 12 months after, then deleted
8. Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 40 days. We may need to verify your identity first so that we do not hand your booking to someone else.
Under Hong Kong’s PDPO you have rights of access and correction (sections 18 and 22). Under Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act you may request access, a copy, correction, cessation of collection, processing or use, or deletion (Article 3).
If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (Hong Kong), the Personal Data Protection Commission (Taiwan), or your local authority.
9. Security and children
Booking data is held in access-controlled accounts and encrypted in transit. We keep paper records to a minimum and delete them once they are no longer needed. Our services are sold to adults; we do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 18, other than a passenger’s name and age where a supplier requires it for a ticket.
10. Changes to this notice
If our handling of data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Where the change materially affects an existing booking, we will tell the person on that booking by email or WhatsApp as well.
